The 3 Virtues of GAS

Enjoy the little thingsThank you for joining us. So far, you’ve seen how stress can cause physical injury and how eating poorly can cause emotional harm. Today, we will talk about the 3 virtues of GAS.

Viktor Frankl, who survived the Nazi Holocaust and was imprisoned in Auschwitz, stated “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

If Viktor Frankl, who went on to become one of the world’s leading psychiatrists, can improve and grow through the holocaust, we can grow through anything. If we really want to.

Here are 3 virtues that will get you more GAS in your tank:

  1. Gratitude
  2. Grit
  3. Discipline

I believe these speak for themselves so I will not expound on them. Most every challenge in your life can be helped, if not solved, with the right use of virtue. If you can operationalize these into every day of your life, you will become who you are meant to be. It won’t be easy, it will take time, and it will be humbling.

You CAN overcome and get stronger, more loving, and more successful in any endeavor. Virtues are of the soul. Find them and operationalize them.

Over the next few days, please take a few moments when confronted with a challenge and see which of the 3 virtues you can apply. Please share them below or if you would prefer, please book an appointment with me to discuss.

In my final blog about Stress, I will cover the 5 M’s to improve your GAS.
